Message FROM OUR PRESIDENTLisa Gutkin |
Dear Friends, I hope this letter finds you in good health and enjoying the (hot!) summer. I would like to thank you all for being a part of our congregation. I, like many of you, see Mt. Freedom Jewish Center as more than just a shul, but as a second home… a place where you are among others who share the common threads of love and dedication to Judaism, to Israel and to our spiritual home. Today this kinship is even more important to us all, as we wake up every day living in a post-October 7th life in America. Our existence has become more complex, confusing, and at times overwhelming, but we have our community to lean on and find comfort and shelter in. It is through community, lead by our esteemed Rav Menashe, that I know that together we will persevere and grow stronger as a community and as a Jewish people. Am Yisrael Chai! As I assume the role of President, I welcome it with excitement…of course with some trepidation, as I have very big shoes to fill. Thank you to Audrey for her dedication and leadership, over the past two years. Under her leadership, Mt. Freedom Jewish Center entered its next century. We celebrated 100 years with a gala that reflected both the heritage and the beauty of our community. Additionally, The Next Century Capital Campaign was started to fund our plans to modernize and restore our charming, and yes, dated, building back to the splendor of its early years. This just highlights some of Audrey’s achievements as president alongside our team of dedicated volunteers and committed professionals. Thank you for the opportunity to lead our community as President. I pledge my dedication to you all, to continue the work to beautify, elevate, and grow our Mt. Freedom Jewish Center home. High Holiday forms and membership renewals are now live and accessible by clicking on the Membership Renewal button in this email, by printing out the forms and mailing them or by bringing them into the office. You will find a hard copy of the forms at the bottom of the "Membership" renewal information under the "About Us" main menu item. Please contact Vicki at office@mtfjc.org if you need help with signing into our ShulCloud website. Wishing you a wonderful rest of your summer and I look forward to sharing the High Holidays together at Mt Freedom Jewish Center, Lisa Gutkin President Mt.
